Christmas Swap Time - Part 3

I think it must have been a super busy year for the postman this Christmas, as I also finally received my parcel from my Secret Santa Swapper!  But it was well worth the wait.  Danielle sent me such a thoughtful package especially for me (and my little fur babies!)  Included were:

Adorable Bandanas & Leads for Daisy and Hugo (that she handmade and embroidered herself!).
Shiny silver tree ornaments.
Wind in the Willows (to add to my reading list)
Scrummy Peppermint candy swivel sticks to have in a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate (so cool).
Festive flavoured tea.
And a beautiful hair clip with a little bit of sparkle too ;)

Thanks SO much Danielle for your lovely gifts!

Daisy in her Bandana...
Hugo in his (so cute)

Daisy LOVES to have her picture taken!
Hugo's a little bit impatient ;)

Foxy Swap ;) - Part 2

I had so much fun this weekend making my decorations for the Small Fox 3rd Annual Ornament Swap!

I made some "Love" & "Dove" tree decoration, using felt,  LD fabric, and of course a little bit of glitter to give them that Christmassy sparkle....>>>

Small Fox Ornament Swap - Part 2

These are my Little Lacey Angels that I made for the Small Fox Christmas Ornament Swap.  I think they turned out quite well in the end.  They look so cute all together - like a mini host.  I hope the other swappers like them.  They were lots of fun to make - I just used coster size doillies, wooden pegs, white felt for the dresses and heaps of glitter for a bit of Christmas *sparkle*.  .....hee hee, they even have glitter shoes - fancy!

I'm all a Flurry.......Frosted Flurries Apron Swap!

Surprise, Surprise - I've joined the Frosted Flurries (love the theme name) Apron Swap hosted by the lovely Shawnee!   I've really been looking forward to this swap and I can't wait to get my partner info.  This swap is really going to get me into the Christmas spirit - I can't wait to start!  As the theme suggests we have to include a Snowflake somewhere on the apron....super cute idea!

There is a little twist with this swap - instead of including random christmassy "tuck-ins" this time we have to choose a word of the season - eg. Faith, Joy, Hope etc. and find extras that start with each letter of the word we choose. Like....if I chose the word "STAR" I might send my partner a Stocking, Tinsle, Apricot jam, RedRibbon......

hmmm ....I am having trouble deciding on a good word though.....let me know if you have any ideas for what word I should use and/or tuck-in ideas. X

Foxy!

I'm really excited about this swap!  I heard about how great this swap was a long time ago and I've been waiting and waiting for registration to pop up for this years so I could join in!  I have to make 10 ornaments that will be sent to Ms Small Fox and she will then redistribute them and I will receive 10 different ornaments back....such a fun idea!

I'm not sure what I'll make yet, but there is lots of inspiration on flickr from last years swap! Check it out - they are so creative and special, I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with this time around.

Fundamentally Ornamental

turtle dove

christmas tree

gingerbread man

These are the little biscuit cutter felt ornaments that I made for the Thimbleprims Studio Christmas Ornament Swap....yay!  So cute, even if I do say so myself!

They are really easy to make.  All you need is:  some biscuit cutters, sheets of felt, embroidery thread, some bead/sequins to decorate and stuffing.

1) Trace around your cutter on the felt x 2 and cut out.
2) Lay the 2 cut out pieces on top of each other and sew around the edge in blanket stitch using ebroidery thread.  Leaving a small opening to suff.
3) Stuff your ornament and sew-up the opening.
4) Decorate with what ever takes your fancy!
5) Add some ribbon to hang on your Chrissy tree!

Victorian Cuff Swap - Posted

I finished my Victorian inspired cuff for Robin last week and sent it off with some other Victorian Era type goodies.   In Sydney we have the amazing Queen Victoria Building (QVB) which is filled with every kind of shopping delight you could think of.  It's one of my favourite places to visit. I included in my package to Robin (of Georgia USA) a cute souveneir tote and some postcards....yay!  Hope she likes her cuff and little extras - I really enjoyed making it. Thanks Hungry Hippie for hosting. X

(sorry about the dodgy pictures - it was quite hard to take a good photo of it, but you get an idea)

"Back to The Future" - Flirty Apron Swap

Ta Da!....... what do you think of the apron I made for the "Back to the future" Flirty Apron Swap??  I had such a great time making it and looking for the "tuck-ins" (extra little goodies).  The tuck-ins had to reflect the Back-to-the-future themes, they being: 50s, 80s and The Future.

For the 80s I found these really cool RayBan-esque sunglasses that had a lovely pale blue frame & a metallic shopping tote with a giant picture of a cassette tape on it - awesome.

For the 50s I decided on a cute double string pearl bracelet and for The Future .... well that one was tough....but, trust me to think of food,  I remembered a childhood favourite "Space Food Sticks"...for when we travel to the moon of course!  :)

I haven't received my apron yet, but I will post picture as soon as I do!

Christmas Ornament Swapsies

twinkle.....
...twinkle

I am so excited about this swap because I absolutely love Christmas time!  And what better way to get into the spirit (albeit a little early) and assist me on my way to finding my creative mojo, eh?

You can join in too - pop over to thimbleprims studio for more info.  Make as many or as few ornaments as you like, whatever you fancy really, and get the same amount in return.....love it!

Victorian Cuff Swap

Now that I'm on the Swapping Band Wagon I just can't get off!    I've just joined the Victorian Cuff Swap (yay) hosted by Hungry Hippie.

The Victorian era was quite ornate as you can see from the pictures below ruffles, bows and lace were in abundance ...

I LOVE this boot.  I especially love the scalloped edging around the little seed buttons.

Flirty Apron Swap

Yesterday I joined Shawnee's Flirty Apron Swap!  This is my first ever swap and I am very excited to take part.  I've heard that swapping is heaps of fun..........so hear goes...

The them is as follows:
"Create a handmade apron package based on "Back to the Future"! Your apron can be movie-themed, 50's retro, 80's pop, or Futuristic!"

I've chosen 50's RETRO as my theme.   Check out some of these cute pictures I found for inspiration...

Stay tuned to see what I come up with........(any suggestions welcome).
